David Duthu, P.E., founder of LoneStar Vintage Restoration, is a registered professional engineer who has had an interest in automobile design, construction and racing from an early age. Being exposed to high performance vintage aircraft as a youngster led to a keen interest in the study of mechanical engineering. This interest in high performance machinery evolved from bicycle modification to midget racers, and then to motorcycles, both flat track and off-road and finally evolved to automobiles. As a teenager, hot rods and sports car racing became the items of interest and have resulted into a passion sustained now 40 years hence. As an engineer focused on system optimization, many ideals translate to performance-based vehicles. Attention to detail, focus on quality, dependability and safety are hallmarks of David’s vision for LoneStar Vintage Restoration.
